While working from home while L.J. was recovering from his stomach bug…
LJ: “Mommy what are you doing?”
Me: “Working on a spreadsheet.”
LJ: “Why are you clicking so many screens?”
Me: “I’m adding information from different places.”
LJ: “Oh. Well that looks boring. I think playing is more fun than your computer work.”

Mommy, I had chips this morning before school. But not the orange ones.* I had the white ones and I did not throw up. So Mommy, I think I’m back to eating chips before school again.
*orange ones = Cheetos. A month or so ago, I got a call from Mike around 9 a.m. He was just on his way to work, which was very unusual. Come to find out that L.J. had decided a bag of Cheetos was appropriate breakfast food and, not shockingly, threw up all over the car on the way to school. Mike went back home for new clothes and to attempt to wipe down the car, and then started out again. They made it to school and L.J. became quite upset that breakfast time was over. So Mike took him to Chick-fil-A for breakfast. Yes, he took the child that had just thrown up everywhere to Chick-fil-A for chicken minis and hash browns.
I was facing a day full of meetings and was certain I was going to be getting a call from school telling me the Chick-fil-A was all over the floor and L.J. needed picked up. By some miracle, that didn’t happen.
I found out later that evening that L.J. had indeed thrown up on every inch of his car seat and the car possible. Guess who got the enviable task of cleaning that mess up? (Hint: person typing this blog post)

We got big pumpkins from Home Depot when Nana and Poppa were here!
I saw that; you picked out great ones.
Yeah. So now we can jack ‘o lantern them.
We sure can. That will be fun to carve them together.
I know! I’m going to make one with a happy face. Let’s get started right after dinner.
**It’s a Tuesday night at 6:30. Not happening.**
It’s Tuesday, dear. And…umm…well…you know what? They’ll get moldy before Halloween if we carve them now.
Good idea, Mommy! We don’t want moldy pumpkins because then we can’t put lights in them.
**Nice save, Mommy**

Landon was so excited I was making tomato soup for dinner! He had it at school recently, enjoyed it and has been asking for it at home. I was excited that a.) he was volunteering to eat a vegetable and b.) soup can be on the table in 5 min with minimal kitchen mess.
Here he is ready to eat his soup. He was waiting on his grilled cheese to be finished first. His second grilled cheese, because apparently the first one I made was on the wrong bread and that was emotionally devastating. (eyeroll)
(I don’t promote a short order kitchen, but Mike was working late and ‘tantrum de-escalation’ was not on my desired list of things to do.)
Anyway, the second sandwich on the appropriate bread was procured and he happily sat down to eat. Scarfed the sandwich, said he was done and asked to be excused.
“What about your soup, bud?”
“It’s not good. It doesn’t taste like the soup at school.”
(EYEROLL)
Meanwhile, Hannah and I happily ate two bowls of the delicious tomato soup. Amy’s Cream of Tomato for the win…mostly.
