Welcome to our blog and welcome to our journey as newlyweds! (I've waited a long time to be able to say that!) We were married January 15, 2011 and below is a little bit about us:
Monica lived in four states growing up – Ohio, Utah, Texas and Georgia. She moved to Georgia when she was 16 and considers it home. After attending Berry College in Rome, GA for two years she transferred to the University of Georgia and become a lifelong Bulldog fan. She graduated with honors from UGA's Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. She loves to cook and entertain friends, and has also been known to get completely lost in a good book on a fairly frequent basis.
Mike was born in New Jersey and moved to Georgia when he was 15. He received his bachelor’s degree and his MBA from Georgia State University. He’s a big fan of the GSU Panthers and their brand-new football team, but also has a special spot for the Georgia Bulldogs. (Thankfully, there will be no famous Southern football rivalries in our home.) He is passionate about the New York Mets and Jimmy Buffett, and also enjoys a good game of golf and eating (almost) anything Monica cooks.
Together, we enjoy heading to the neighborhood hot spot Verde for delicious tacos and margaritas, watching Wipeout or the History Channel on busy work nights and spending time with family and friends on the weekends. Monica has been instilling her love of exploring in Mike, and he has been trying hard to expand her appreciation of sports beyond college football (so far only the former is a success). We both like trips to the beach, and Monica can't wait to introduce Mike to the rugged beauty of the Rocky Mountains out west.
