Uprooted

Thanks for the patience! I've got several blog posts in progress that will be posted soon (I hope).

We have been in our new home for one week now. We really like the house and have been working hard to get unpacked and settled. We're getting close!

We are still trying to get our bearings with our new neighborhood and a new part of town. I told Mike the other night that I currently feel very uprooted. I lived in the same-ish area of town for almost 10 years, so this is a big change. Everything that was so familiar is not familiar anymore.

We are also struggling with our new commute, which is now a minimum of 2 1/2 hours round trip when we factor in L.J.'s school. Clearly that is not going to be a good solution for our family, so we are figuring out next steps.

One thing we have been very pleased about is L.J.'s reaction to the new house. He loves it and has settled right into his new room and his new home. He talks about "new house!" all the time. We have had no transition issues at all - yay!
