“Mommy, can you buckle me out?” (unbuckle the seat belt)
“Daddy we need to use the bear-wheel today!” (wheel barrow)
Me: “L.J. you need to stop and use your listening ears.”
L.J.: “But I don’t like them!!”
Learning how to play hide and seek…
Mike: “Ready or not, here I come! I wonder where L.J. could be hiding?”
L.J.: “I’m right here under the table Daddy!”
The other night, the day after I returned from a business trip, we acquiesced to L.J.’s request to sleep in our bed. Shortly thereafter, I tripped over a large pile in the doorway. It consisted of L.J.’s pillow, Baba, Minnie Mouse, large board book and another stuffed friend. L.J. looked at me and said, “I’m ready, Mommy!”
“I want to watch Handy Pandy tonight.” (The TV show “Handy Manny”)
Me: “Good Morning, LJ!”
L.J.: “Hi, Mommy. Tomorrow we’re going to leave for ba-cation!”
Me: “That sounds fun, but unfortunately we’re not going on vacation tomorrow.”
L.J.: “Oh. Well is the ocean really far away?”
Me: “Not too far; it’s in South Carolina.”
L.J.: “No it’s not! The ocean is by the Ocean House!”
I gave L.J. a dollar to buy a book at Goodwill. He was very excited about having real money to spend, and insisted on taking a “purse” to carry his dollar in while he shopped.
Showing Hannah how to work his iPad.
L.J. has been working on a big potty milestone for months. We promised him Peppa Pig’s house as a reward, and he was so excited to go to the “big Target” to pick it out. He ended up choosing this Air Patroller instead, but regardless he was so proud he volunteered for a picture with his prize!
