We recently checked out Ponce. City Market, which has been on my “must see” list for a long time! It was a lot of fun hanging out with my dad, Nick and Lauren, and a really unique experience overall.
We spent most of our time on the rooftop playing midway games and enjoying views of Atlanta’s beautiful skyline. It was early and the rooftop wasn’t crowded at all – which worked out perfectly. Landon had the best time playing games and amassed quite a collection of prizes. He was just pleased as punch!
Afterwards we took the giant elevator back downstairs. In contrast to the rooftop, it was really crowded. We decided to grab one of Holman & Finch’s famed hamburgers. They were every bit as good as the hype! The best part was the homemade ketchup, which was addictively good. I nearly adopted Hannah’s sauce protocol of eating it with a spoon.
Feed Us!
The only thing that was disappointing was the service, which was slower than slow. Not the easiest thing with two hungry littles.
Hannah’s experience at PCM was impacted by a well-intentioned #momfail. She gets car sick – epic, projectile vomit car sick. Long(ish) car trip + Atlanta traffic was a recipe for disaster, so we tried children’s Dramamine for the first time.
When we arrived, she was a little drowsy and out of it. She perked up some on the rooftop, so we let her down but she wasn’t quite walking in a straight line. While waiting for dinner, the Dramamine wore off and you would have thought someone gave her a handful of Pixi sticks. She was climbing all over my dad, trying to get down, not wanting to be still. We finally strapped her in the stroller – to much protesting on her part – and explored every inch of the giant Williams-Sonoma that was across the hall while we waited on the food. A good meal in her belly and she was back to her normal self.
It was really neat to finally see PCM, and I want to go back with Mike to explore it more. It would be a great date night!
Note: We will not be going back with the kids any time soon. They were fine, but it was insanely crowded and that made it stressful for me. Even with three other adults keeping a close watch and a zone defense approach – it was way too crowded for two active little kids.
