Lots of things you read and hear mention how absolutely wonderful pregnancy is and I’ve heard the word “honeymoon” used to describe the second trimester more times than I can count.
Well, pregnancy is pregnancy. Your body is going through a really massive change. And while it’s true that some days are sunshine and rainbows, other days are a bit more cloudy. This has been a particular struggle of mine with not feeling well the past few weeks. I feel like I should be all “sunshine and rainbows” about the whole thing, but the truth is there are quite a few instances where I just plain don’t feel well – and I feel guilty about that.
I got an email from a friend of mine recently and it honestly made my day. She mentioned my not feeling well and said, “I generally felt [crappy] my entire pregnancy; it was always something. So I understand what you’re going through!”
I’ve received lots of encouragement from friends who know the details of what’s going on right now, but to hear someone who only had a brief overview say that it wasn’t always perfect for them either was very validating!
