Growth Spurt

Well, apparently baby and I are going through a growth spurt. Or at least the baby is; I seem to have run out of room. Hope mine is next because I am rapidly getting uncomfortable and short of breath.

I realized last night that I ate every two hours yesterday without fail, and still went to bed hungry.

8:15 a.m. – Cereal w/ milk
10:30 a.m. – Graham crackers generously slathered with peanut butter
12:30 p.m. – Snacky lunch – cheese cubes, Ritz crackers, few chips, applesauce, cookie (yes we need to go to the store…)
2:00 p.m. – McDonald’s Hamburger
3:30 p.m. – Cheese peanut butter crackers
5:00 p.m. – Half chicken quesadilla w/ sour cream; tortilla chips
7:00 p.m. – Baskin Robbins kid scoop ice cream
9:00 p.m. – Handful pretzels
10:00 p.m. – Slice pumpkin spice bread w/ butter

The above food selections represent a rather unbalanced meal plan grossly lacking in the fruits and veggies department, but at least I did decently well in the protein department.

I’d like to give myself a pregnant gold star and say, “Well on most days my meals are much more balanced with lots of fruits and veggies.” If I really thought about it, though, that’s probably not the case.

I’m not sure if I would feel better if I ate a more “balanced” diet or not…with my IBS I can’t tolerate whole grains/fiber and with my pregnancy most meat and most vegetables (heck, most everything…) fall into the “disgusting” range.

I suppose I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing and try my best to work in some extra fruit servings! And keep eating peanut butter approximately 3x daily… :)

  1. Oh my...you certainly were not raised on a diet like you ate today. I hope "baby boy" doesn't get any ideas about a healthy eating plan from today's consumption!
