*with utensils, please!
I couldn’t figure out why L.J. was fussing so much at dinner until I handed him the fork. The fussing stopped instantly – he wanted to do it all by himself! L.J.’s one step closer to civilized dining.
He did a pretty good job with it! I was impressed with his dexterity and how much he got into his mouth. Being his first go at it, a fair amount was accidentally flung to the floor. He clapped for me when I vacuumed it up after dinner. At least he is polite about his messes!
He’s been somewhat using a spoon for a few weeks now – he can manage it if there is something sticky on it like yogurt or cottage cheese. (He can’t scoop off a plate yet with a spoon or fork; we load it up for him.)
L.J. has also sprouted a few more teeth to make mealtime easier. He has 1.5 molars on the bottom, and the two teeth next to his bottom middle ones are also coming through. Four at once…ouch!
