We’ve gotten reports this week that L.J. hasn’t been minding at school. This is unusual for him, but not all that surprising considering we upended his little world last week with my kidney stone adventure.
We also learned that he has not been helping with cleanup the past few days. This is surprising, as L.J. can be pretty particular about things going back where they belong. His teacher said he will respond to clean up requests by saying he can’t bend over because it will hurt his baby.
This was pretty funny to hear because I knew exactly where it came from! All last week, when the stent was in place, I could not get down on the floor to play or bend over to retrieve anything from the floor. Apparently, L.J. had been paying close attention anytime I said “Mommy can’t…” or when I would ask Mike to help me pick up something. He remains convinced that he is the pregnant one, so I’m sure it made perfect sense that if that was mommy’s excuse it should be his as well.
“I can’t bend over because it will hurt my baby.”
I’m going to be laughing about that for a long time!!
P.S. - Apparently my very pregnant belly makes a great footstool...
