Hannah – 9 & 10 Weeks

By some miracle, Hannah is actually napping, so I had time to do a blog update. Lots crammed into this one because my free windows are quite limited!

It’s important to me to document Hannah’s first year the same as I did L.J., so the dust bunnies under the end tables are just going to have to keep reproducing for now. Dust bunnies are seasonal decor for Easter, right?

We spent most of week 9 in Greenville enjoying the second half of our visit. (Update coming soon – hopefully – about our fantastic trip home!) Hannah also got to meet my friend Katie and her family, and enjoyed her first St. Patrick’s Day holiday!

I skipped green food this year in favor of green cupcakes. L.J. was so excited about them and, bonus, they were an awesome way to keep his behavior on track that day. Thank you, Publix!

Goodness gracious, week 10 was full of firsts for Hannah!

We’ll start with my two favorite moments of the week:

  • The other day L.J. sat down next to Hannah’s bouncer after dinner, and she looked at him with the biggest grin and happy little coo! What a special moment and memory!
  • I handed Hannah to our neighbor the other day, and she immediately started looking around for me. Very sweet!

This week Hannah went to her first Easter Egg Hunts, met the Easter Bunny and met cousin Ethan. L.J. handled the egg retrieving and playground action while Hannah supervised from the comfort of her stroller.

In a family first this week, we finally met some neighbors! Our neighborhood Easter Egg hunt turned into a 5-hour affair that ended with six families enjoying pizza and beer at our neighbor’s house. Most of our kids were the same age-ish and an enjoyable time was had by all.

We are phasing out the swaddle. Hannah has figured out how to wriggle her arms free, and the other day she managed to pull the swaddle up over her face in the process. She was snug as a bug and super impressed with herself. But…safety first = bye-bye swaddle. Sorry, kiddo.

And, finally, we are starting to see smiles and coos throughout the day. Hannah is becoming more alert and interactive with the world around her.
