Today I celebrated my first Mother’s Day. It was extra special because I got to spend part of it with the person who has been my biggest inspiration as a mother – my mom.
I also, of course, got to spend the day with my pride and joy:
I can’t say I had the most relaxing day ever, but it was a family-centered day and that’s what matters most. I definitely felt special and received a sweet card, pretty pink flowers and chocolate from my little man (with some help from daddy :)).
I realized toward the end of the day that I hadn’t taken any pictures of L.J. and me on my first Mother’s Day. At first I fretted that I was already in lounge pants and a messy ponytail – but then realized Mother’s Day is all about being a mom and that is definitely real life for me! So Mike snapped a shot of us during my favorite moments of the day, story time and pre-bedtime snuggles.
Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers, mothers-to-be and those aspiring to be mothers! I hope that it was a special day for each of you!
God definitely blessed me the day you were born. I am so proud of all three of my children. Monica, you are a generous and loving mother to LJ. He is so lucky to have you in his life.
