L.J. is going to be a big brother! We are so excited to share the news that we will soon be welcoming baby #2!
“Peanut,” as we have been calling the little one, will be joining our family at the end of January. Second baby, small mommy means that Peanut is already making himself/herself known. My belly popped at 10.5 weeks!
We told L.J. about the baby, but he doesn’t really understand yet. For posterity, here’s how the conversation went:
Me: “L.J. would you like a brother or sister?”
L.J.: “Umm…no.”
Me: “How about a baby brother or sister?”
L.J.: “YES!! Baby sister! Mommy go get L.J. baby sister.”
Me: “Well there is a baby growing in mommy’s tummy. It will take awhile to get here.”
L.J.: (Lifting up my shirt, poking my stomach and looking confused)
In the days since, he’s mentioned it a couple times. He lifts up my shirt and asks me where his baby sister is. I told him it will take the baby a while to grow and it might be a baby brother – but he looks at me like I’m crazy and insists that it’s a baby sister. Maybe he knows something we don’t??
