If you ask L.J. about the baby, he will tell you it’s a “baby sister” and the
baby’s name is “Baby Charley.” He is insistent and unwavering on these two
points. It’s endearing and something I want to remember about this pregnancy.
We’re pretty sure the baby sister comes from Ra-Ra’s little sister. L.J. has
been around her since she was born so the concept of a baby sister is familiar
to him.
Charley is a horse. Specifically, he’s an enormous Clydesdale at Lawton Stables
in Hilton Head. And even more specifically, his name is actually Harley.
L.J. has seen Charley/Harley several times since he was an infant, but ever
since he saw him in May he hasn’t stopped talking about him. He’s enamored with
the horse and has taken to naming anything special to him “Charley.” We are
quite certain this is where “Baby Charley” comes from.
We love the interest L.J. has taken in his soon-to-be sibling and know that
regardless of the gender (or name for that matter) he is going to be a great big
brother.
