Another co-worker who lives nearby was also a huge help with Baby J, picking her up on Saturday and returning her home on Sunday. She brought her kids over both days and fun, messy, chaotic playtime was enjoyed by all four kids!
Kids ages: Almost 4, almost 3, 2 ½ and 9 months. Baby J was in awe of the “big kids” and all the bigger-kid toys in the playroom!
L.J. did really well with Baby J – being gentle, sharing his toys and wanting to help take care of her. It was very sweet, and he confirmed what we already knew: he’s going to be a great big brother!

I was exhausted by Sunday evening. Multiple times I found myself wondering how I was going to manage two kids full-time when 24 hours was enough to do me in, and I had to gently remind myself that I am six months pregnant. I’m sure we’ll settle into a comfortable routine soon enough once Baby Girl arrives in January.
Outtakes:
1. The kids wanted to go play on the screened porch Saturday afternoon, but we said it was too damp and chilly for Baby J to be outside. L.J., having recently spent time with my MIL and her enormous dog, quickly replied, "We put J in her cage? Then go outside?" Sorry, son, but it does not work like that!
2. L.J. asked where Baby J lived and I explained that she lives downtown near the zoo. That was fine, until the next afternoon when L.J. asked if it was time for her to "go back to her house at the zoo" followed shortly thereafter by "J's house near the elephants??" Note to self, don't bother trying to explain geographical references to a two year old.
3. I took Baby J to Publix on Sunday morning, which was awesome. Mainly because she didn't try to escape the cart, beg for a snack every 2 aisles or throw herself face down screaming in the freezer aisle. I digress. I got to the checkout line and the older cashier looked at me, looked at J and then said, "Wow! You are fast!" I had a bit of explaining to do...
