Mike and I continue to be surprised, daily, by what Hannah gets into. The days of her quietly playing on her blanket or lounging contentedly with Mommy or Daddy are no more. She is into everything, and I do mean everything.
Next to the oven is a large ‘appliance garage’ cabinet, which Hannah beelines for anytime she thinks we aren’t paying attention. The blender and the crockpot lid live in there and Hannah thinks both are quite exciting.
A nice big basket of toys? Nope, she’d rather topple a stack of books from Mommy’s nicely curated bookshelf.
On her tippy-toes, trying to get something out of the tub. Upstairs, the bathroom is what she beelines for if she thinks we’re not paying attention. This more than slightly terrifies me.
Note the baby gate next to the fridge. It’s to keep a certain someone out of my purse and laptop bag, which are stored under the desk.
Taking advantage of the temporary removal of the baby gate while we re-installed the hardware. (12/30/16 – first time she climbed the flight of stairs unassisted. Not unattended; I was inches from her.) Gate is now firmly in place and swings shut automatically.
Big parenting mistake: letting the kids take a bath in the “big tub” together. Hannah now realizes that the monstrosity is another vessel for water and, accordingly, it is the newest item on her “To Be Conquered” list.
