Where are you going to be on a beautiful weekend that’s not boiling hot? Outside!! My mom and I decided to take L.J. to the Atlanta Botanical Garden this weekend. The three of us had such a great time!
It was an absolutely perfect outing for L.J. because he was not too young to get something out of it. There was so much right at his eye level to look at and so many colors and textures to see and feel. He very quickly figured out that he could reach out and touch the plants, so it was a great sensory experience for him. (Perhaps not so much for a few of the plants…)
The current exhibit is called “Imaginary Worlds” and features 19 living sculptures. These sculptures have metal frames, but are then constructed entirely of plants. And some of them are huge! It is beyond cool! My favorite sculpture is a tie between the Cobras and the Earth Goddess. Take a look:
The Atlanta Botanical Garden frequently has really neat, unique exhibits. I’m not sure what is coming up next, but we can’t wait to go back – what a fun family activity!
