L.J. – 42 and 43 Weeks

IMG_2342

These two weeks have been all about “me too!” L.J.’s insatiable curiosity has extended to the  dinner table. It started prior to our Cincinnati trip, but the trip really fueled the fire. If there is “real” food in sight, L.J. wants nothing to do with his pureed baby food!

Mike and I are skirting the issue by feeding him his baby food prior to putting dinner on the table, and then during our dinner he gets some table food (typically fruits and/or veggies). However, I think L.J. is catching on to our ruse and our tenure with baby food is slowly coming to an end.

In fact, he is even starting to pick up on the fact that sometimes what is on his placemat are not the same tasty morsels going into mommy and daddy’s mouth. He reacts to this realization by staring at you intently and then screeching for what he wants. (Tonight it was bites of mommy’s hamburger) So far, ignoring or distracting him have proven only marginally successful.

I think it’s a good thing we have such an adventurous little eater – I just hope he stays that way through toddlerhood!
