Cotillion

IMG_2889

L.J. has recently mastered two skills befitting a Southern gentleman, polite refusal and reverence.

He has been practicing the toddler version of “Thank you, but I’m all finished” by handing his food back to us when he is full. Or, alternately, requesting his plate so that he can put back the food he doesn’t want. This has greatly decreased the amount of food being flung to the floor, though his skill is newly acquired and not always practiced.

We say grace before meals and L.J. has started following our lead and clasping his hands together. I love this and it’s so sweet to see his little hands folded together.

And in other L.J. news, he’s walking more! He’s been more apt to practice and can now walk a short (wobbly) distance on his own. He wants to get from Point A to Point B so fast that he tends to lose his balance; I’m curious to see if this means he goes from 0 to running in a week flat.

Remember in his last monthly post where I mentioned L.J. giving kisses? He now does so whenever asked and it’s just the sweetest thing ever!
