I am simply amazed by some of the phrases I hear coming out of my mouth. Life with a toddler is an adventure, no doubt about it!
L.J. is always on the go. The most frequent comment we hear besides his size is probably, “Is he always that busy?” Yes, yes he is. Fortunately he is not normally “destructive busy” – he’s just curious and wants to know how everything works.
Below are a few of the more comical things I’ve said to L.J. recently:
“It’s not a good idea to run around with a rubber duck in your mouth.”
“Stop licking the storm door.”
“Since when is standing on top of the cooler a good idea?”
“We do not eat food out of the trash can!!!!”
“Do not throw your Easter eggs in your diaper pail.”
“Take your blankie off your head before you walk into a wall.”
“Please don’t throw your socks in the bathtub.”
“Quit wiping your toothbrush on the toilet lid.”
And this gem, relayed to his teacher: “He found a rogue piece of Easter candy this morning, so if he poops blue foil don’t be alarmed.”
I think you will still be saying weird stuff to him until he's at least 18. I have to say the oddest things to my students on a daily basis :) I just caught up with the life of L.J. He's precious! I look forward to the next time I get to see him.
