Shoes and Socks!

L.J.’s newest words-in-progress are “shoes” and “socks”. He’s working very hard to master them, as putting his shoes and socks on are his favorite part of getting dressed. Or at least, the only part he doesn’t protest by showing us his best bucking bronco imitations.

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star

This lullaby was the inspiration behind L.J.’s nursery theme and so we think it’s extra sweet that it’s also his favorite song. It is an instant calming tactic for him and has been from the time he was a newborn. No matter how worked up he is, he quiets instantly once it starts playing.

Dada, Dada, Dada!

Mommy is currently reprising the role of “chopped liver.” In other words, L.J. thinks Daddy is the coolest person ever and pretty much wants nothing to do with me if Daddy’s around. I know it’s just a phase, so I’ll pretend it doesn’t hurt my feelings.

Future Firefighter?

The fire department stopped by our neighborhood block party this weekend, and L.J. has his first “touch-a-truck” experience. He thought it was pretty cool! Some of the other smaller kids were a little frightened of the big hook and ladder truck; we put L.J. inside and he immediately climbed up onto the seat and made himself at home!

The Park

Always the park. Love the sweet smiles we get from this sweet kiddo when we take him to the park!
