Landon – 21 Months

IMG_5814

L.J.’s biggest development this month is running! He can now run at a pretty good clip for a pretty good distance without stumbling. He practices this skill every day when Daddy gets home.

Speaking of Daddy, he hung the moon and walks on water. I answer the question, “Where’s Daddy?” approximately 572 times a day. Uncle J.T. and Papa (Grandpa) also rank high on the “coolest people ever” list. Mommy? She just cleans, gives baths and puts dinner on the table.

L.J., like many young boys, gravitates toward cars, trucks and airplanes. We slow down when driving past construction sites and fire stations, and he loves to point out airplanes in the sky. Funny but true: He’s still working on pronouncing the word “airplane”. I have more than once thought he said, “I peed!” when he was saying airplane.

His speech is becoming more clear every day, and he has even said a couple 2 and 3-word phrases. He is very polite and charmed the pants off of the Costco sample team with his “Please” and “Thank You” responses.

He loves to help us clean and tidy up, and is quite particular about putting things back where they belong. For example, pushing chairs in at the table. His teachers at school said that he helps clean all the time. Such a big helper!

Playing in his kitchen and reading books ranked high on his to-do list this month, and he loves to tell us to “sit!” when he wants us to read him a book.

He continues to be one of the most energetic, on-the-go toddlers I have ever met. He’s just plain busy. But we have seen a little slowing this month, a little more concentrated playing.

We can’t recap this month without mentioned (again) his complete and total obsession with the show Bubble Guppies. He remains uninterested in anything on TV except that particular show. I’ve tried to show him a couple PBS kids shows, but he just sits there and asks for “Bubbles”.

He continues to love school, his neighborhood buddies, snack time and trips to the park. He’s fully into toddlerhood and is looking more like a little boy and less like a baby every day. But some things never change – his sunny personality, insatiable curiosity and boundless energy continue to be his hallmarks and are just a few of the many things we love about him.
