Hannah – 4 and 5 Weeks Old

I blinked and now Hannah is 5 weeks old!

Week 4 included Hannah’s first social outing on Super Bowl Sunday. We went to the park with friends. It was a beautiful day and fun to introduce Hannah to a few of our friends.

Week 5 included Hannah’s first road trip. We went up to Greenville to stay with my parents for a week. We really enjoyed our visit and though it’s good to be home, I’m pretty sure we’re all going through withdrawal. The highlight of Hannah’s visit was an abundance of snuggle time with her Poppa!

Thankfully her fussiness has decreased a little bit since I did her three week update. It depends on the day – some days she’s a sleepyhead and will tolerate her swing or bouncy seat, other days she fusses the moment she is put down. And boy can Sister Bear get indignant if she wants to be held and someone has the audacity to suggest otherwise!

We’re still struggling with finding the perfect meal for Hannah. We started her on Costco/Kirkland infant formula, which is rumored to be identical to and made by the same laboratory as Similac. When our second container ran out, I decided to try a sample container of Enfamil Gentlease. After 3+ days on that I wasn’t seeing much of a difference, so we went back to Kirkland. Her fussiness/gas/spit-up hasn’t improved and seems to be getting worse. So now we’re trying Similac Sensitive in hopes that maybe it will help. She is so miserable sometimes from stomach discomfort.

In other Hannah news, she is starting to develop adorably chunky cheeks. I informally weighed her and she’s around 8.5-9 lbs. And she’s really starting to show a preference for the Soothie brand pacifiers vs the orange hospital ones. She really loves her pacifiers; looking at all the pictures on my phone, most of them include Hannah and her pacifier!
