I found a Peter Rabbit-themed nursery set at Pottery Barn Kids that I loved. It had sentimental value (my nursery was Peter Rabbit-themed) and it looked like it would coordinate well with the curtains and bedding already in the guest room/nursery.
I picked up the bumper pad and crib skirt on Friday; the matching sheet is in transit. I was so excited to get home and see how it looked!
Unfortunately, the bumper pad didn’t work with our crib at all. The shape of the slats made it almost impossible to even see it was a Peter Rabbit theme. On top of that, the ties weren’t long enough to tie into bows, the solid section in the middle of the crib (front and back) prevented the ties from being secured and it couldn’t be tied at the corner like it was supposed to. Fail times three! Nevermind that it didn’t match the curtains.
(Excuse the iPhone pics and the pillows subbing in for the mattress…)
I suppose the only plus to it was that I have been back-and-forth on the bumper pad decision due to all the safety warnings. This has made the decision quite easy – no bumper pads because standard ones won’t fit!
It really is a shame though. The bedding is beautiful – it looks like it was done by hand. Take a look at the detail of one of the panels below.
Guess it’s back to the nursery drawing board! I have a few ideas in mind, though as my husband pointed out – “Don’t go overboard because we may only be here a couple months after the baby comes.”
