Guess who learned a new word this weekend? The third word in L.J.’s repertoire is “Go!” If you say it three times in a row he will also do it three times in a row. It’s completely adorable!
L.J. was delighted that Nana and Grandpa came for a visit this weekend! I was too, as we tackled some lingering house projects. We are now feeling much more “moved in.”
Here is L.J. helping Grandpa set up the bed in the guest room:
I love this picture! I am decently handy around the house thanks to many years of my dad allowing us to help with projects and teaching us skills. Grandpa has lots to teach L.J. as he gets bigger!
He was very excited to see the fireplace gate temporarily come down so the flue could be checked.
“No, Grandpa. You’re supposed to crawl INTO the fireplace. Here like this…I’ll show you!”
To continue the trend of spending money like it grows on a tree in the backyard, we bought a new highchair this weekend. His Fisher Price seat that strapped to a chair wasn’t working – he would wiggle around in it and it would flip him back into the infant feeding position. This was a problem for obvious reasons!
It was money well spent, as he really likes his new chair and there has been a lot less dinner thrown to the floor the past few days.
While my mom and I debated the merits of various chairs, my dad and L.J. kept themselves entertained by performing strength tests on the baby bouncers. What a contrast to the photos I have of a small, snuggly newborn napping in a bouncer!
And, of course, there was lots of play time with two of his favorite people! He understands quite clearly what “outside” means and wants to spend as much time out there as possible. It’s so nice to now have space for him to play!
L.J.’s current “thing” is waving. He waves at everything! On a walk the other day he waved at the neighbor’s roofers and they waved back at him :) He also waves at other shoppers in a store, cars passing by, squirrels, telephone poles and anything else that strikes his fancy. It’s quite an endearing little trait and something I want to remember!
