This past weekend our Fall Football Weekend took place on Sunday. We went to a pumpkin farm! This year we opted for Cagle’s Dairy Farm in Canton, and it was a great choice. They had fewer pumpkins but more activities than Burt’s Pumpkin Farm, the perennial favorite among Atlanta families.
We had such a great morning at Cagle’s! We successfully navigated through a corn maze and then checked out the farmyard. We went on a hayride, learned about how sheepdogs herd sheep and cattle, saw a few animals in the barn and then watched a pig race.
Cagle’s had just the right amount of activities for L.J. He could participate in all of them and did not get bored or overwhelmed. His favorite activity was the Jumpee Pillow! I can best describe it as a cross between a trampoline and the floor of a bounce house. They had a smaller version just for toddlers/preschoolers and L.J. loved it!
We worked up quite an appetite by lunchtime, and enjoyed a picnic lunch of hot dogs and chips in the pavilion. What is it that makes concession-stand hot dogs so delicious??
L.J. fell asleep before we even drove out of the hayfield parking lot – success! We rounded out the day with a neighborhood playdate; nothing like a cool fall day in the cul-de-sac with good buddies!
Cagle Corn Maize and 300 middle school students from St. Peter Chanel...oh those were fun evenings. Remember, you were a big help on several of those outings.
ReplyDeleteNext year dad and I want to go along with you, Mike and LJ. Love the happy, smiling, having a great time photos.
