Yesterday we celebrated Halloween with the annual “Pizza & Pumpkins” event at L.J.’s school. This was our second year participating; last year he was too little to get much out of it.
Last year I remember feeling a little awkward because most of the infants weren’t there and I didn’t know any of the older-children families. I remember being so relieved to see one family that we knew! This year was much different! We made plans in advance to attend with our neighborhood buddies and saw several more familiar faces at the event.
Unfortunately, L.J. wasn’t all that into pumpkin decorating. He was tired after a long day and didn’t understand why we were staying at school instead of going home. He was also upset that he didn’t get his daily cookie treat from the nice older gentleman who directs traffic during drop-off and pickup.
We still had a good time getting to see some friends and watching the littles play together! Next up is the Halloween parade at school. Our neighborhood is contributing a headless bunny, headless lion and headless dinosaur because the boys refuse to wear the headpieces to their costumes.
And…winding down once we got home…
