For our seventh Fall Football Weekend, our fun activity was attending a birthday party! L.J. had a fun time playing with new-to-him toys and running around with the other children. The birthday boy was turning three. It was interesting for me to watch L.J. interact with him and the other three year olds at the party. L.J. was pretty much the same size as they were, but it was obvious that he was a year younger developmentally. I did get a glimpse into where we’ll be a year from now! Three-year-olds can run and they are noisy!
(You can tell by his face that he’s younger, but size-wise???)
(Little party people. Isn’t that dino birthday border awesome?!)
Speaking of development, L.J. has been growing and changing a lot the past few weeks! He is talking more and more every day, and is using several short phrases regularly. We’re also seeing the beginnings of imaginative play with his toys. And he now gives directions! He will push or pull us if he wants us to follow him, come see something, etc. Are these directions or orders? With an almost two-year-old, I suppose it’s debatable.
