The “Bounce Park”

I took L.J. to the new Chick-fil-A by our house the other week. He loved playing in the indoor playscape, which he called the “bounce park.” He’s been talking about it ever since, so I decided to take him to a larger indoor playground as fun surprise.

He was so excited when we got there! I wasn’t sure how he’d react since he hasn’t been too fond of actual bouncy houses or climbing structures in the past. Looks like he just wasn’t old enough before, because he played hard for two hours (!!) at this playground.

I really liked it because it was one big room and had plenty to entertain but not so much that it was overwhelming for younger kids. They had a lot of places for parents to sit too, which was nice because I could remain close to L.J. (read: follow him around like a puppy because I am paranoid properly cautious)

His favorite was the giant green triple slide. If I was not pregnant, I would have joined him because it looked like so much fun! He climbed up to the top and slid down probably close to two dozen times. Below is a progression of his slides – from his initial attempt that flipped him over, to his first successful trip down, to his more daring approach towards the end.

(For the record, I did tell him “absolutely not!” to go down head first, but he couldn’t hear me above all the other noise and commotion.)

I was also incredibly proud of him for going down the big bounce slide all by himself! He wanted me to go with him, and I explained that I couldn’t go and that he’d have to do it on his own. I showed him how to climb to the top and then he bravely started up – that’s him at the top in orange.

He loved sliding down the great big slide, though decided that one time was brave enough for the day.

He tried another bounce structure and quickly realized that it was perfectly suited for practicing his new jumping skills! The ball pits were also a big hit. This picture sums it up – I think he had a great time!
