Yesterday L.J. went on his very first playdate! My friend Julie invited us over for a visit. She has a daughter, Alessia, who is 10 months old.
Julie and I enjoyed visiting, and it was great to swap stories with another first time mom. Her daughter is cute as a button, and it was neat to watch her play and think that L.J. will soon be moving around and playing with toys, too.
Despite his couldn’t-care-less expression in the photos, L.J. enjoyed his first playdate. We tried out a Bumbo seat for the first time. He’s not old enough for it since he can’t control his head yet (Lord knows he was big enough for it…) but he really liked the vantage point it offered.
Alessia was a busy little bee and L.J. liked watching her. He also liked her Velveteen Rabbit toy, as the long ears with bright pink satin lining were fascinating to look at.
(Wow…my pacifier isn’t nearly that cool…where do I get one of those?!?)
You have surely noticed that, yes, my almost-3-month old son is nearly the same size as 10-month old Alessia. She is a few inches taller and weighs 3-4 pounds more than L.J. She was very petite when she was younger, but now is just below the middle of the growth chart for weight. In other words, my child is huge.
An added bonus of our playdate adventure is that L.J. only woke up once last night! Baby boy, that was awesome and please feel free to start doing that regularly.
So glad you were able to get together with Julie.
