Is St. Joseph available?

Just dropping in with a quick note to say…we got a house!!!

Now we can relax a little bit. Breathe a little easier. Sleep a little more restfully. I am so, so thankful right now and excited at what lies ahead for our family.

Our search for a rental house has been by turn frustrating, stressful and maddening. Not to mention time-consuming. Despite having excellent credentials, we were 0/4. Mind you we are renting a home, not buying one. It shouldn’t be that difficult! But it was every bit of that and more.

Recently a friend encouraged me to ask for the intercession of St. Joseph (the patron saint of home). I did, and believe that was the reason we got the house we did. So thank you, dear friend – you know you you are.

From the beginning, we were searching for a semi-updated, family-sized home located either in our current community or one nearby. It was a needle-in-a-haystack search and even our real estate agent said it was very unlikely we’d find what we were looking for. So we focused on a bedroom community north of where we lived, which is where all four of the other homes were located.

Then, on a whim, I checked Craigslist. I came across a house in the exact area we wanted that appeared to have all the features we wanted. It even had hardwoods and granite!

Through lightning-fast responsiveness on our part and a great deal of prayer that house is now our new home! We can hardly believe it; we signed the lease last night and it still hasn’t quite sunk in yet.

Stay tuned…our new adventure is about to begin!
