I took my parents to see our new house over the weekend. L.J. had a blast crawling all over the place! I think he’s really going to enjoy having a lot more space to stretch out and (eventually) run around in.
First order of business, already partially accomplished: purchase stair gates! Those will be installed immediately. L.J. was quite fascinated with the stairs…that makes us very nervous!
We are eagerly looking forward to taking possession on Saturday. My parents were a big help this weekend taking measurements at the house, keeping an eye on L.J. and helping get the packing process started.
In other weekend news, L.J. took quite a spill yesterday afternoon. He was standing up at the ottoman and fell down, hitting his face on the way. There was quite a bit of blood and I thought he may have bitten through his lip. I took him to the Germ Palace Pediatric Urgent Care once the bleeding stopped and fortunately it was not a serious cut and no stitches were required. (He tore the piece of skin that connects your lip to your gum – the thing you feel if you stick your tongue above your teeth.) Poor thing…once the doctor got his mouth fully open and looked inside I hurt for him! She said it should heal quickly with no additional care needed. I’m thankful for that…and very, very thankful he fell on the new, softer ottoman and not the previous solid wood coffee table with sharp corners!
