Landon – 13 Months

IMG_4986

Thirteen months marked big steps for L.J., though not yet any first steps!

This month…

  • L.J. learned to enjoy standing. He now does so quite willingly and will stand at length on a short bin to play with puzzles or at his LeapFrog table.
  • Climbing has commenced! He will climb over us to get to something and has climbed on top of the short blue bin a few times.
  • We experienced L.J.’s first big sickness, a combination of a bad cold and an ear infection with some teething thrown in for extra effect. Poor little guy was just miserable for a few days, but as always was quite a trooper.
  • He has graduated from Infants 1 at school. Today he moves in with the “big kids” in Infants 2. This is a bittersweet milestone for mommy; it feels like just yesterday that he was the “tiny baby” joining the Infants 1 room.
  • Mike is diligently trying to teach L.J. to say “Dada,” but for now he refers to both of us as “Mama.”
  • He’s been working on several teeth for the past month, much to his dismay and discomfort. Hurry up one-year molars!
  • L.J. has become quite the rapid crawler and can get anywhere (and into anything) in a matter of seconds.
  • And he just started cruising!! We are so excited for this milestone and L.J. is quite proud of his new skill. He will also walk short distances holding on to mommy or daddy’s hands.
