This year Thanksgiving was spent in Greenville, where L.J. and I enjoyed a relatively relaxing and quiet holiday. Mike had work commitments and spent the week traversing from one snow-covered state to another. He was, however, able to enjoy a nice Thanksgiving meal with the team.
L.J. thoroughly enjoyed being doted on by his grandparents, aunt and uncles! He took full advantage of his adoring fan club and was treated to many trips outside, walks around the block and extra play time.
A special shout-out must be given to Poppa. It was very easy to keep track of L.J. while we were in Greenville; he was rarely more than two feet from my dad at any given time.
L.J. also met up with Papa Bear again. He was quite taken with his oversized friend, insisting that he sit in the chair next to his crib with one paw through the rails each night of our visit.
One chilly afternoon we tried out a new activity: the Bounce House room at the local rec center. When we arrived it was not crowded and L.J. really enjoyed the toddler-sized bounce house! He also had fun going on the “big kid” bounce house slides with Poppa and Uncle J.T., who, unlike mommy, did not get stuck while carrying him up…
He loved driving the various Cozy Coupes around the room; mommy loved spending money for an activity where he spent most of the time doing something he can do for free at home.
Thanksgiving Day was very quiet and relaxing. The parade was watched, of course, and we had a nice Thanksgiving dinner with almost the whole family gathered together. We put a big spread out for L.J. and he ate…four rolls. Cest’ le vie.
We avoided the Black Friday shopping crowds and instead enjoyed the festive holiday atmosphere in downtown Greenville. We saw several people kayak over the falls, which was quite impressive. (Though not sure if it was quite legal…)
Mommy and L.J. practiced taking “selfies.”
The trees downtown were beautiful!
It was really nice to spend a few days with family!
