Capsule Wardrobe

I enjoy reading the blog Wardrobe Oxygen, written by a woman named Ally who lives in Washington, D.C. Even though Ally’s body shape and personal style are a bit different from my own, I find her posts to be very helpful and insightful. She provides lots of tips and suggestions about fashion in general – how to wear certain pieces, how to accessorize, etc.

My wardrobe right now is rather desperate. The other day my mom looked at me and informed me that I was a hot mess. (Though she didn’t use that phrase, which she would consider entirely too Southern for her lexicon.)

I have exactly one pair of light colored, ill-fitting jeans that I can get on and approximately four tops. I’m going back to work in less than 3 weeks so, Houston, we have ourselves a bit of a problem here.

Ally has done some capsule wardrobe posts, illustrating how a few key pieces can be mixed and matched to create a number of different outfits. I wrote to Ally and asked if she would please do a post for a jeans-casual work environment.

I was so happy to open her blog a few days ago and see that my question had been answered! I thought her advice was helpful and was thrilled to see what she put together. She doesn’t know me or my style, yet she to put together a capsule wardrobe that is pretty much spot-on.

You can check out the post here – and I will definitely be printing this out and taking it shopping with me!
